CodeHers 2026: Expectations for adult guests

Safety of our students is our utmost priority. All adults seeking to visit or attend CodeHers agree to the following expectations:

I have no criminal convictions, cautions, or pending charges that would make me unsuitable to work with or be in the presence of children. If there is any relevant matter that may affect my suitability, I have disclosed it in advance to the coordinating teacher.
There is no known reason why a reasonable person would consider me unsuitable to work with or be around children and young people.
I understand that only adults pre-approved by the CodeHers committee are permitted access to the event.
I agree to wear the official event identification badge at all times while on site.
I will conduct myself in a professional, appropriate, and respectful manner at all times.
I will not allow myself to be alone with a student in a private or enclosed space.
I will avoid physical contact with students.
I will not take photographs, videos, or audio recordings of students unless explicitly authorised by the CodeHers committee.
I will not invite or encourage students to contact me beyond the event, except where explicitly authorised by the CodeHers committee (for example, approved marketing or outreach activities).
I understand my responsibility to report any safeguarding concerns, disclosures, or incidents involving students to a CodeHers committee member or a designated teacher immediately.
I agree to follow all safeguarding instructions provided by the CodeHers committee and acknowledge that failure to do so may result in my removal from the event, or possible reporting to authorities.

Terms & Conditions

I understand that CodeHers events have limited places. If I book a space that I don't end up using, this means someone else misses out on getting to attend. If circumstances change so that I can no longer attend, I will notify info@codehershk.org as soon as possible so the space can be made available for someone else.

I consent to the various CodeHers authorised media teams recording event highlights for various uses including commercial media (eg: SCMP), per-school use (social media, newsletters, yearbooks) and CodeHers future marketing. (Please email info@codehershk.org directly if you have concerns or questions about this).
